Amazing Facts about Puffins!

When you take a look how many different species of animals and plants exist, you cannot stay calm and not ask yourself how do they actually live? What are their ”superpowers”? We, humans, often think how we know everything about our planet, but there’s so much out there we haven’t even explored.

Puffins are well known for mating for life. Besides that, digging burrows is their other ‘favorite’ activity. But, we will talk about something extraordinary today. Can you make a connection with these birds and fluorescent beaks? I couldn’t either, but now, scientists have revealed something that shocked the whole planet, and especially all bird lovers!

When you place one of these birds under an ultraviolet light, their beaks become fluorescent. How did scientists make such discovery? It all started in February when Jamie Dunning had a dead puffin in his laboratory. His lab is known for doing many types of research about birds.

This time, Jamie wanted to prove how birds can see much more colors than anyone else can. What this scientist has also found out is that these fluorescent beaks can be actually connected with mating. Once the mating season is over, the iconic orange color birds contain always disappears.

How incredible is this research? Can you even imagine what all those birds that live in the wilderness may teach us about their life? This may be just the start of a completely new picture we have missed. Besides that, Jamie Dunning is always coming up with some great points about the world that surrounds us.

If you are a nature lover (and who isn’t?), then you should definitely read his researches. This man has dedicated his whole life with a purpose to know more about our planet. The world is full of magic.

It is also very important to mention how people were concerned that the birds he has researched were tortured, but he has claimed how he never did such a horrible thing. He just gets all those dead birds and then he examines them. Jammie Dunning is, as I have already said, a bird lover!

Can you imagine what could we find about the creatures that live in the deepest areas of our wildest oceans? I cannot even imagine how many amazing things could we find out only if we would try to be more curious about our planet.

They look like real life Pokémon. I imagine them using some kind of ice power as an attack.
