Overwhelmingly fair, slim, and cisgender angels are what we see on the runway of Victoria’s Secret. The leading lingerie brand hasn’t ever hired even a plus-size model for their runway show. Is it time for the brand to have their first trans women of color on the runway?

Well, at least trans model Leyna Bloom think so.

The model turns to Twitter to express her dream of landing a gig with Victoria’s Secret. The tweet is now taking off like wildfire with over 15,000 retweets.
She twitted “Trying to be the 1st Trans model of color walk a #VictoriaSecret Fashion show.”

Leyna Bloom has been working as a professional model since 2014. After appearing in top runway shows and magazine covers, the model is now on a mission to work with Victoria’s Secret.
The ambitious model says that it is always a dream for her like other POC, women, and even some men to work for this leading brand.
She adds, it seems like a gamble to take on a trans model of color for bigger brands. But she wonders why it’s so hard for them to give trans models a shot. Then again, as anything good takes time, she still has hope.

The gorgeous model says: “We all have unique stories; we are just different, and we have every right to be. We just want to be represented, and maybe they will want to represent us too.’
She feels it is heavenly to be on a platform that glorifies femininity in her most natural state. Also, this will be a proud moment for her as well as all her trans sisters, regardless of color.

As her tweet has been retweeted more than 14,000, it seems like a lot of people would like to see Leyna living her dream.
Having walked for the Blonds and after being the first trans model to be featured in Vogue India, this would be a massive milestone for Leyna.

They need to show they are inclusive! It’s a right step and one of the best proofs for our society.

They haven’t even taken plus sized models and you want them to take a trans one just like that?

Leyna is beautiful and deserves the recognition any of these cis models are receiving.

And I hope that she is given that chance! Times are changing and companies like Victoria’s Secret need to be as opened as this change. It will serve them better and they won’t receive the inevitable backlash, especially after the uproar she’s had in twitter.
