I have talked with my friends about razors and how long they last, how much money people spend on them, and how everyone always forgets to buy the new ones. A friend of mine then told me about Dollar Shave Club. I was like:”What?” Yet, it seemed like I was the only one that hasn’t heard of it.

So, what is this ‘club’? It is a program which sends you the razor blades each and every month. Have you ever run out of razors? Then, you know what I am talking about here…you typically don’t think of buying them until you’ve run out.  So in this program, you get a monthly subscription and then you get a whole new package full of razor blades. What else do you need to know about it? Well, here’s my experience.

I signed up but was skeptical. Lots of people don’t even buy new razor blades, because they most of the times are getting them for free with coupons. I did that too once.

Once signed in, the first month is just $5, so, it is not a huge a waste of money even if you don’t like Dollar Shave Club. This program works in a way where you just need to choose those razor blades you want to get each month. They have free options when it comes to choosing your proper razor, but believe me, those $5 will be enough for all your needs! The great thing is also how they don’t have any hidden fees (oh, how much I hate those). If you stay on, the restock box is $24.70 but says it lasts three months.

What will you get for those $5? You will receive the monthly razor blades you have chosen, and some small samples of their new products. One criticism is how razors don’t last long as other brands, but I somewhat expected that. With new razors coming monthly, it’s probably healthier for your skin to swap out more frequently.

One thing I did like was some of the sample products I got–and got to try them for free. The Shave Butter is really nice, and the aftershave is good too. I like a few of the shower products I was sent, and the toothpaste is SUPER minty and refreshing.

Overall, I think this is great deal if you are super busy and you can’t remember to buy razors. Besides that, spending only $6 per month on razors is really nothing.
