What should you know before you start lifting weights?

It’s summer, you wanna be in the best shape you can be in…right? Most of us aren’t that disciplined and realize we need to change some of our habits. Why should you change those habits? Maybe by changing them, you will become healthier or happier. Here are a few tips we have found helpful in getting in shape and start lifting weights.

  1. You will not only make your muscles strong but… Lifting will help you to keep your body healthy and to prevent many diseases, mostly when it comes to bones, heart health and so on. Have you heard about osteoporosis? Yes, you can escape that illness if you train hard enough.
  2. Slow down. If you are a newbie to weightlifting (and probably you are, because you are reading this), or if you haven’t ever played any sport for a longer period of time, then you really need to slow down. You shouldn’t watch all those powerlifters that go to the gym for so many years and to try to act like them. Remember how they all started from the point where you are now. You don’t want any injuries, right?
  3. What to eat? If you want to gain increased confidence and strength at the same time, then you definitely need to think about your diet. It would be the best to take at least 1 gram of protein per Kg of your body weight. So, let’s say that you are about 130 lbs, then you should eat at least 60 grams of protein per day. How to achieve that? There are numerous protein charts on the web which will help you to stay on the right track. For example, an egg has 6 grams of proteins.

  4. When to eat? Eat a small dish before going to workout, but be sure that you eat at least 1 hour before your training starts. Besides that, when you come home, be sure that some protein awaits you! I would also recommend you take some simple sugar right after the training is finished (raisins are great for this purpose). Your muscles will grow!

Are you now motivated enough to start lifting weights? I am too! Go step by step, and be proud of each and every gain–even the small ones!

How can I figure out what to eat and when? I’m a very picky eater when it comes to vegetables, is there anything I can do about this? Lastly I feel like I don’t have a workout schedule it’s like I’m blind and lost while in the gym. Any advice???

I work out in my Apartment gym and it only has a set of dumbells and a treadmill, sit down bike, and a step up machine and they all are not having the power to operate curectlly. So what do I need to do to start adding classes for working out and gaining mucsel??

      Before you start
Ease into it. If after your first workout you’re little sore all over, that’s good.
When you think you’re getting good at this, still be careful not to over do it.
      Mostly HAVE FUN !

I am quite weak and need to really improve my muscles. This is nice to start. Hopefully I can do something in the coming week.
