This Meal Delivery Service Changed My Life

I knew something had to change when I found myself eating a bowl of Cap’n Crunch for dinner — for the third time in a week. Don’t get me wrong — Cap’n Crunch is delicious, and I have absolutely no shame in buying the Costco-sized box. (And no, I don’t have kids. Go ahead, judge all you want.)

But on that particular night, I looked down into the bowl of sugary milk and soggy yellow puffs and thought, Get it together, girl. Not only is cereal an unsatisfying meal, but I also knew I wasn’t doing myself any favors in the nutrition department. Yet as a single woman with a demanding career, I just don’t have the time or energy to meal plan and grocery shop, and then spend every night prepping ingredients and cleaning up.

I decided to try a meal delivery service — and it’s been my salvation. If that sounds like an exaggeration, consider this: The service I chose, GoReadyMade, delivers delicious meals already prepared with fresh ingredients right to my doorstep. That means zero trips to the supermarket and zero time spent scrolling through food blogs in search of that one perfect recipe.

In fact, I don’t even have to do any prep! That’s because — unlike meal kits, like Blue Apron or Sun Basket — GoReadyMade dishes don’t require any chopping, slicing or dicing. All of their locally-sourced ingredients arrive pre-cut, pre-mixed, and pre-portioned. Because of the freshness of the produce and protein, some meals might require a few minutes of heating in the oven or microwave or on the stovetop. But that’s it. It’s easy, convenient — and fast.

I get eight meals a week, but you can personalize the number to suit your own needs, choosing as few as four or as many as ten per week. My plan costs $8.99 per meal. That’s a serious bargain, considering that I’m no longer spending money on groceries or even gas to get to the store. All I do is sit back and relax, and the food comes to me! Plus, each meal serves one adult, so I don’t have to feel bad about wasting leftovers.

But the best part? I can come home from a long day of client meetings and answering emails and still enjoy a flavorful, healthy meal. My personal favorites are the Teriyaki Pork Chop with Basmati Rice and Asparagus, or — if I’m feeling indulgent — the Steak and Mac and Cheese with Cauliflower.

But GoReadyMade’s menu truly has something for everyone. You can choose from plenty of vegetarian options, like the Healthy Veggie Buddah Bowl or the Veggie Fajitas with Guacamole–yum!

In the mood for more global flavors? Try the Korean Style Crispy Beef Bowl or the Sesame Tuna with Yakisoba Noodles. I’ve tried almost all of GoReadyMade’s options and I haven’t been disappointed yet.

And neither have my friends. Thanks to GoReadyMade, entertaining is easier than ever. The service lets you select the meals you’d like to receive each week. So, if I know I’m having guests that weekend, I’ll alter my usual selections to try something new and extra indulgent so I can share.

Since I started subscribing to GoReadyMade, my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. Now that I’m not spending any time on meal planning or prep, I have more free time to do the things I enjoy with the people I love. And I feel better about what I’m putting into my body.

No more soggy cereal dinners for this busy working girl. Bye-bye, Cap’n!

Sounds very interesting. Do you offer three daily meals or just lunch. dinner or breakfast? And is $8.99 standard & is it subject to change? Does Medcare affect the price or can it? WHAT ABOUT DIABETIC DIETS?
