Sleeping on a Leesa mattress is the best decision I’ve ever made

As the CEO of a fast-growing company, my days are packed. And my nights aren’t any better (at least they weren’t). I was tossing and turning on a crappy, uncomfortable mattress. But I didn’t want to spend my precious weekend hours shopping at traditional mattress stores only to be disappointed with my purchase. Time and a good night’s sleep are two of my most valuable commodities, so I decided to try a mattress from Leesa.

These days, there are tons of online-only mattress companies like Leesa that offer their products at a much lower price point than brick-and-mortar mattress stores. They save money by cutting out the middleman and selling directly to consumers and then pass those savings on to customers. Not only are the prices lower — but these companies also claim to make a superior product.

While there are lots of these mattresses on the market, the amount of research and craftsmanship that goes into every Leesa mattress puts them head and shoulders above the rest. They’re not comfortable putting their products on the market until they’ve spent years on research and design.

The first thing you’re probably wondering…yes, their mattresses are affordable. And yes, they offer a 100-night trial, but that’s just the beginning. The company also holds itself to the highest quality standards. Each mattress is meticulously engineered and expertly crafted in the USA. Their customer service is second to none, and best of all, they donate one mattress for every 10 they sell (that’s more than 30,000 to date) and plant a tree for every single mattress they sell.

Leesa sells two distinct mattresses. Their flagship mattress, the Leesa, is constructed of three premium foam layers that regulate your body temperature and conform to your unique shape, relieving pressure and supporting you all night. The company’s hybrid mattress, the Sapira, combines Leesa’s premium foam layers with thousands of individually-wrapped, pocket-spring coils for amazing support.

I went with the king-size Leesa mattress. After sleeping on it for about a month, it has already changed my sleep — and my overall leadership ability — for the better. Here’s why.

DELIVERY AND UNBOXING

Most online-only mattresses are made of foam, and come to your house rolled up in a box. That might sound weird — but it actually makes delivery really easy because you don’t need to be home when the mattress arrives. I really appreciated this convenience because I didn’t need to rearrange my schedule to accommodate delivery.

Leesa

Unboxing the Leesa was a breeze. I just slipped it out of the packaging, set it on my bedframe and let it unfurl. True to Leesa’s promise, it only took about an hour to fully take shape. And it didn’t have that dreaded smell that I’d heard rumors about. (Apparently, some foam mattresses give off an “off-gassing” odor when they’re unrolled. Not so with Leesa.)

When my mattress had fully taken shape, I was able to appreciate its sleek, clean design. Everyone covers their mattress with a sheet, of course — but the Leesa looks great even when it’s bare. The built-in mattress cover is a nice, solid gray with white stripes, and it’s super soft. A true testament to Leesa’s commitment to quality, it’s hand-sewn and 100% made in the USA. I appreciate small details that make a product stand out — and the Leesa clearly didn’t skimp on those.

FIRMNESS

The Leesa mattress’ top two inches are constructed of dual-purpose Avena® foam that promotes airflow, for temperature regulation, and bounce, for freedom of movement. With my old mattress, I got overheated really quickly and usually woke up at least once to throw off sheets or blankets. Thanks to the Leesa, I don’t have that happen anymore.

Below the first layer lies memory foam that gently contours to your body, providing support and pressure relief. Finally, under that, there’s a base foam layer for strength, durability and structure. The magic of these layers is that they come together to make a mattress that’s firm, but not too firm. It’s just right for sleepers of all sizes and preferences — even a six-foot-tall guy like me.

I loved that I didn’t need to waste time shopping around and trying out tons of old-fashioned mattresses ranging from “soft pillow top” to “super firm.” Sleeping on the Leesa is like having a custom-made mattress that provides maximum support and comfort tailored to my needs.

SLEEP QUALITY

I’ve often struggled to find a mattress that supports my whole frame. With my old mattress, I’d toss and turn all night. As if that wasn’t bad enough, I frequently woke up with back pain that’d ruin my whole day.

With the Leesa, my back pain is completely gone. The memory foam layer gives me the personalized support I need, providing comfort and stability. No more tossing and turning — I’m sleeping more deeply than I ever have, and waking up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle any challenges my work day can throw at me

Considering how stressful my job is, this is a miracle. The quality of my sleep has directly impacted the quality of my work. I’m more productive, I think more clearly, and I have increased focus. When you’re a CEO, you can’t put a price on these things.

Our friends at Leesa have provided us with the promo code PEOPLEHYPE to take $160 off the Leesa mattress or $250 off the Sapira.

Ah, I wasn’t expecting this from a lesser known mattress. I should try them out. Came for a moment just as I’m needing a new one.
