This meal kit will change your life– for the better

These days, it seems like all my friends are using meal kits — you know, the ones you see all over Facebook and Instagram. They deliver all the ingredients and recipes to make three meals for two people, right to your door. It streamlines dinner prep by eliminating grocery shopping and meal planning. Instead of painstakingly measuring out rice and fresh ginger, you simply throw all the ingredients together — and just like that, you’ve got a delicious, home-cooked meal.
I’ll be honest: Though I’d known that meal kits existed for quite a while, I wasn’t convinced that they were for me. I could whip up a few simple dishes, so between that and takeout, I figured I was nailing the whole dinner thing. But then I visited my fitness-freak friend and she served me steak with an incredible chimichurri sauce and a side of sweet potatoes and bell peppers. I assumed she’d spent hours slaving over this perfectly balanced, protein-and-veggie-packed meal — so I was shocked when she told me it was an EveryPlate recipe! That’s when it hit me: A meal kit isn’t just for super busy people who struggle to eat healthfully — it’s for anyone who likes to eat exciting, delicious, and healthy recipes.
I thought EveryPlate would be a fun way to surprise my partner, so I went home and ordered my first box. The process is so easy: You just sign up, pick your meals for the week, and then, like magic, they arrive at your doorstep. It was fun just to choose the meals, because every single one — from Ginger Chicken Stir-Fry to Apricot Pork Chops— sounded so good! The plans are easily customizable — besides the “dinner for two” option (three recipes per week, two servings each), there’s also a family plan (three recipes per week, four servings each).
A week later, our first box arrived. Each meal was incredibly fresh and took only 30 minutes to make, which was super convenient. We like to spend our nights Netflix and chilling — not fighting crowds at the grocery store, only to finally get home and spend three hours hunched over a hot stove. EveryPlate let us try new flavors and cuisines without any of the hassle.
The first thing my girlfriend said when we sat down to our first meal was, “Did you really cook all this?” That’s when I knew EveryPlate was a winner. I think that, when it comes to food, “convenience” gets a bad rep. You hear that word and automatically assume the food must be unhealthy, boring or bland. But EveryPlate totally redefined our ideas about what “convenience” means. Their meals are flavorful but not super high in calories or sodium. Many of them are high in protein and come with vegetable side dishes, like the Sweet Potato and Bell Pepper Jumble my friend served the night she turned me into a meal-kit convert.
And not only are EveryPlate meals healthy — they’re super cheap, too. I used to spend tons of money buying very specific ingredients for one meal, half of which would rot in the fridge. But EveryPlate meals cost only $4.99 per serving. I can’t go to the grocery store and get all the food in my EveryPlate box for less than that, even at full price.
Now, we really look forward to dinnertime. EveryPlate spices up our routine, so we don’t eat the same thing week after week. In fact, the huge variety of meals EveryPlate offers has actually made us more adventurous eaters. At the same time, our plan provides enough flexibility for us to dine out when we want to.
At the end of a long day, it’s great to have a no-brainer option for dinner. EveryPlate is tastier, simpler, and WAY cheaper than traditional meal planning. It’s as exciting as dining out, but without the hefty price tag. Convenience never tasted so good (like, really, REALLY good).
