Universal Studios makes some of the most popular theme parks in the world, and it’s always exciting when a new one is announced. Last week, the company officially announced a new concept park, the sixth in its lineup. Here’s everything that’s been announced so far about the new Universal Studios in Texas.
Where is the new Universal Studios park?
The recently announced Universal Studios park will be in Frisco, Texas, a fast-growing city just outside of Dallas. There are currently two Universal Studios theme park locations in the United States – one in Orlando, Florida, and one in Hollywood, California. This park should perfectly split the distance between the two existing parks to give Universal Studios fans in the South and Midwest an option closer to home.
How will the Frisco park compare to the other Universal Studios parks?
In addition to the two other Universal Studios parks in the U.S., there are also parks in Japan, Singapore, and Beijing. The biggest park in the franchise so far is Universal Studios Orlando, which spans 840 acres total, but the other three are all less than half the size. The new park in Frisco will be built on a 97-acre piece of land that Universal Studios recently acquired, which will make it the smallest of the Universal Studios parks so far.
As of now, this park doesn’t seem like it’s meant to be an alternative to visiting the Orlando or Hollywood parks for a full vacation. It could be more of a day trip for Texas residents or anyone traveling through the area.
As for the theme, it seems that the Frisco park will feel like a Universal Studios classic. In its Twitter announcement , Universal Studios said, “The new park concept, set in a lush green landscape and featuring immersive themed lands, celebrates Universal’s iconic brand of entertainment, humor, and innovation and brings to life its beloved characters and stories in ways that will wow even the youngest theme park goers.”
What is the new park called?
Since this park seems to be smaller than the main Universal Studios parks, there’s a good chance it will be a unique experience different from the other ones. The name of the new park hasn’t been announced yet, but it seems likely that it’ll be something more exciting than simply “Universal Studios Frisco.”
What attractions will be at the new park?
As the new park was only announced last week, we don’t quite know yet which attractions will be there. Universal Studios has, however, expressed that the new park will be geared toward families with young children.
