U2 is an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 1976. The band consists of legendary singer Bono on vocals and lead guitar, “The Edge” on guitar and keyboards, Adam Clayton on bass guitar, and Larry Mullen Jr. on drums and other percussion. Songs of Surrender is U2’s fifteenth studio album, an impressive feat that not many other bands have accomplished.
Songs of Surrender is a project that came as a surprise. The album was spurred directly by Bono’s best-selling book Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, where the singer used 40 past U2 songs as a narrative vehicle for his story. The album has 40 tracks and lasts for nearly three hours.
