Man Sues Background Check Site After Wife Uses Site To Catch Him Cheating

1,072,747 total views

Frank from Dallas Texas filed a lawsuit against background check site Persopo.com this month in court. In the lawsuit, he alleges Persopo.com provided his wife with “confidential” information about him. His wife divorced him based off this information and he wants Persopo.com to pay.

Nowhere in the lawsuit does it dispute if the information is accurate or not. Nor that he was having an affair on with multiple women.

County lawsuit document

The case can be found on the Clark County website case number 16A003140, Clark County Courts

Conservative Daily Post spoke to Frank’s ex-wife Mary to figure out more about this strange situation. Mary had suspected her husband of cheating for a long time. He would constantly be gone for hours without answering his phone and never seemed to have an honest answer why he was gone.

“We had been married 13 years and had our ups and downs but this seemed different”, Mary said. “He never did stuff like this before. Leaving at all hours and never telling me where he is going.”

Mary had finally had enough and decided to start doing some research online. She found Persopo.com, a background check site that can give you all sorts of information about someone. To use Persopo.com all you need to do is type in a name and state and the system goes to work. Pulling together every possible piece of information on them.

Persopo.com not only pulls from public records but many different social and dating websites around the internet. It can give you a full picture of someone’s online activity almost instantly. This is how Mary caught her husband Frank.

More and more Americans are using online background check services like Persopo.com – They use the service to scope out friends, family, teachers, co-workers or anyone they feel like. Searching is easy all you have to do is type in a name and the state they live in. Instantly you can get access to a huge amount of data from criminal records, property records. In Mary’s case she also found out about quite a bit of online activity from her husband as well. Is there anyone you would look up on Persopo.com?

“When I searched his name it came right up, he had accounts matching his name and email on cheatinghusbands.com, match.com and many others,” Mary said. “I just couldn’t believe this was the man that I married.”

Persopo.com even provided Mary a screenshot of his match.com profile where it states he is “never married” for relationship status.

Frank is now stating that “Persopo.com ruined my life by revealing private information about me.” “It gave my wife too much power.” He is currently seeking unspecified damages. After confronting Frank about the situation, he did admit the affair. He stated he had slept with at least 4 different women within the last 12 months. Mary promptly filed for divorce.

What do you think? Should Frank be entitled to money from Persopo.com? Should Persopo.com be allowed to give this much power to its users?

Simple solution… don’t cheat on your wife, and you won’t get caught… Easy as that. He has no basis for a lawsuit.

Totally agree!! If he was faithful and doing nothing then his wife would’ve found nothing!! And his wife has a right to know who he’s been sleeping with!! I mean hello! They are married and who he sleeps with she also sleeps with!! He could’ve brought a disease home!! Not to mention those dating websites are public!! She could’ve easily logged on and saw it!! Now if it was inaccurate information and no merit behind it then that would be a whole different case. But he is admitting to cheating on his wife.

First he isn’t entitled to any compensation he had public profiles on the dating sites and she his ex wife could have or would have found home if she had went directly to the sites his profiles was on the background check just simplified the process for his ex wife and if it’s already public he has no expectations of privacy therefore fine him for filing a frivolous lawsuit of 100,000.00 and dismiss his lawsuit

So, let me get this right. Maybe we should sue private investigator’s as well. No, the man cheated on his wife and now he has to pay the consequences. Really, this company did what a private investigator would due, just for less money and quicker. If he gets a dime out of this, it will be a travesty of justice.

He can Sue but more than likely he won’t be awarded anything. That is the whole purpose of a background search is to gather Information. You are not entitled to privacy or confidentiality if you are willingly putting your information online whether it be social media or otherwise. Once you post something on Facebook, Instagram, OK Cupid or match.com it is instantly public and online forever. This website did their job. They were hired to get information in they got that information. They did not violate anyone’s privacy because they did not provide private information. If anyone should be suing someone else it should be the ex wife suing the husband. She should be suing him for emotional damages, intentional infliction of emotional distress, alimony and whatever else she can. That website did not ruin his life or his marriage he did that all on his own. I suppose the website could actually turn around and Sue this gentleman for slander or defamation of character.

Regardless of gender, cheating is not justified. If someone gets to the point of wanting to cheat, they should leave their partner. It causes way too much heartache for everyone involved when the door is opened to deceit.

In all honesty he shouldn’t get anything. From what I read this is all info a person can find on their own easily if they know what to do. I could find that info in no time if I wanted or needed to. If you simply search for certain information it is easily attainable. Simply searching an email or name can pop up many different results. All the site did was take away the searching time. From what it sounds like everything that was found was public records anyways.

He should not receive a dime. He should not have been cheating. Why can’t people just take responsibility for their own actions? He is basicly wanting this money cause the information got him caught. He put the info out there for the world to see when he opened those sights. I am sure those sights track cookies or else they would not have been tracked back so easily. He ruinedhis own life when he started the planning and plotting to cheat. Man up!

There is a big difference between the government tracking our every move, and a person willingly putting stuff out there on public websites, dating sites, social media, whatever. P.I.’s have been around for a zillion years, this is just the computerized version of a P.I. The husband’s privacy was not infringed upon. He chose to put it all out there…lies and all…he’s just mad that he got caught and can’t man up and face the natural consequences of his choices. Sorry Mr. Husband…grow up and either be faithful or stay single and do whatever you want with whoever you want! The website did nothing wrong!

Well, I am going to start off by saying this. Women, if the shoe were not on the other foot you would be doing the same thing, because if you are going to sit there and say that you wouldn’t, you are all liars. That being said, “Dude best of luck to ya,” (sarcasm) and that being said, “You are a POS for making the rest of us who are men look like trash who like to keep our vows and have morals and values about us! I for one, came down with a medical condition in 2015 and was married to a woman that I loved wholeheartedly and though I was not a perfect man, I can say that I was perfect to my vows, but my medical condition took a toll on our sex life. She was a very sexual lady and though the medicines did not kill our sex life, it did put a big time slow down on it, and at the age 38 years old, that hurt me. I lost my job, my career due to my illness and this just added to the stress of course and a year and a half later she told me she wanted a divorce and three months later, she faked, and this is not cliche either, SHE FAKED, she sowed a web of deceitful lies to obtain a restraining order against me and to make a long story short, I pretty much had to gracefully bow out of my own family inheritance home, take a scar against me, now live off my disability check, deal with the betrayal of someone I worshipped the ground that she walked on, since our divorce is not yet final I to this day have not been with another woman, she has another man already cooped up with her, come to find out she was cheating on me in July of 2017, and I have done everything I can possibly do to be the better person. Some say I should do this and do that and even my attorney is blown away, but I just want it over. I had to forgive because if not it would have turned to hate and that is something I could not have dealt with or lived with. I feel that good Lord will let His will be done in His time. Marriage is a sanctified union in my eyes but it just isn’t what it is supposed to be anymore in today’s society. It is a sad world we live in. Cheaters do not prosper or gain in the long run.

He doesn’t deserve a dime. He used technology to cheat and lie and his wife used technology to expose him. I would say the same if it was the wife who cheated and the husband exposed her. The amount of effort and energy it takes to do wrong would be better spent to do right by your mate. It’s sad that most of society is being encouraged to place blame elsewhere instead of owning up to ones errs and trying to amend their ways and move forward.

Same here. After 20 years of marriage, tossed me to the curb like garbage when he immediately got a gf and can’t look me in the eye and treats me like a stranger…after HE cheated. Yet, I had to be the one to walk away from the marriage AND file for divorce. To this day, I believe he has never truly been sorry and feels justified in his treatment of me. Boundaries – I have no contact except via email and moved 2-1/2 hrs away to start fresh. You reap what you sow. He now sees his child only every other wkend generally for just an overnighter due to the distance but I needed to get healthy and heal so needed new surroundings that weren’t constant painful reminders.

I was married for 14 years until my late husband died from a rear illness. Our marriage remained intact in spite of the difficulties and struggles from the illness. I believe when you vow you stick to it.

It’s best she become honest and open with you rather than lies and deceitful plots.

Well, I wouldn’t lose anything that belonged to me if she is the one cheating. My husband would go days on end and wouldn’t answer his phone. When he would answer he would pick a fight with me so he didn’t have to come home. He would lose jobs by not coming home. He left me twice but only came back because it didn’t work out where he went to. We are separated and have been for almost a year. I did everything for him. No matter what it wasnt good enough. He tells me he might have broke every vow but he didn’t sleep with no one else. I just cant believe him. I found messages to another women in his phone about how he is only using me. That’s why we still separated. Anyways, I wouldn’t let her have nothing. Just my opinion

I had a cheater like this . Found out he had a wife and another woman carrying his name not to mention other women. I did a background check on him. When I found all of this out. I notified all the women to see if they were aware about what he was doing.

These men and women think they can get away with playing with other people’s feelings but you can put a trace on them now and if cheating leave them.

Nobody is worth you jeopardizing your life for.

I am glad for services like this. I can always stay on top of the bs.

About the lawsuit. If the Judge is a cheater himself he could allow the man a win and that is sad.

You get what you get when you post on social media. That’s what I don’t understand when people complain about the rights blah blah blah.
even if it doesn’t involve cheating and it’s just a Facebook post. You have a right to post whatever you want it is a free country. However I have a right to post whatever I want in response to what you posted. People need to take ownership for their actions and what they do including posting on social media. Better yet, I hope he wins on some stupid technicality that takes the an entire 3.5 seconds to fix and that his wife doesn’t sign the papers until right after the verdict. As long as her attorney is worth his/her salt, since she is the one that caused him the ability to even go forth with any such case and it was started by 100% wrongdoing on his part, she should get every dang bit of it.

As someone else has already pointed out the only thing that the site did was consolidate his social media accounts and make it easier and faster to track down his info. It’s all a matter of public record so the site didn’t disclose anything that wasn’t already out there for all to see. If he didn’t want to get caught I guess maybe he shouldn’t have been cheating. I hope he doesn’t win a thing. The site and his ex-wife didn’t do anything wrong. I do hope that karma comes back to bite him the butt. No one should be treated like he was treating those women. Unfortunately I’ve been down that road. Everyone gets what’s coming to him eventually. It’s not up to us to distribute the Justice I just wanted to be around when my ex got what was coming to him. He did too! Karma as they say is truly a “B”…😂😂😂

the man cheated… end of story – or should be.. he is concerned about his life ruined.. What about her life – should she sue him for it? Should the women he cheated with sue him? If kids involved, should they be able to sue him also for breaking up their home?

And if he wasn’t getting ‘it’ at home, what if she has a medical condition she can’t.. What if??? yeah that is the whole shebang in a nutshell.. That man wanted strange.. he went for it.. or maybe he was seeing if he could find her replacement before he left her..

What if she was abusive – why didn’t he just leave?

IMO – if you post on a public website – you gave up privacy rights.. The laws cover what it legal and what is not.. He is not a minor who has rights to be protected.. He is a grown man who chose to ‘stray’ not once but many times..

All the site did was find the ‘public’ stuff… they didn’t hack his computer, break into his home, bug his phone..

He doesn’t want to take responsibility for CHEATING on his wife, but it’s 100% on him. Anything anyone posts on social media is fair game. If you put ANYTHING online, you have ZERO expectations of privacy, just like when you put your trash out on the curb then it’s public domain and you have no right to protect whatever’s inside. If he didn’t want to be caught with his pants down, maybe he should’ve kept his fly zipped……..

Be that as it may, once he posted on social media, it is no longer private. Once he set up accounts on online dating websites, he decided his private life could be there for anyone to view. His wife didn’t need the company to find the sites. She could have gone into any of them and searched for his profile and found it by herself. The internet is not a private forum. Once the information is on the internet, it’s fair game.

Social Media, is just THAT! There us no privacy and most of us, really have no idea, how far this information really reaches. Cheating aside, if you lie to someone, withhold information or have “anything” in general to keep a secret, you shouldn’t be married in the first place. This place did nothing wrong. They did not use the information to get him hired/fired, housing, etc. If he feels like, “his life is ruined”, he needs to take a long, hard look at his life and himself.

Amen, I completely agree cheating an hiding an lying means probly should have never married or been with anyone! There’s no good end to that situation really just b honest to those you love an give them the same respect you would want. When you choose to use social media may as well know your giving up privacy with hacking an everything else no such thing, an he should consider he says ruined his life maybe think of the other person involved that also gave 13 years of her life as well dedicated to him she will never get back not including the heartbreak!

Any information you put on the internet in dating sites, social media, etc. is public information and is fair game. After all, how are you going to find dates if the dating sites are not public? This, to me, is no different than her hiring a PI to follow him and the PI takes pictures of him with a girlfriend. Sorry buddy, but blaming someone else for your bad behavior is not the way to go. I know this generation doesn’t like to take responsibility for their own actions but, sorry, you were caught, now time to pay the piper. If you want your life to remain private, don’t put your private information on the internet. I would like to see parameters set where you could opt out of having your address and telephone number published as you could in the past in the old timey telephone book!

What would he be suing for?? That the site revealed the truth about what he did behind his spouse’s back? I have no empathy for him because I’ve been in his spouse’s shoes and have had to play “detective” before. He should just own up to what he did and apologize to his wife if he wants to make amends. People can reconcile after affairs, but not if the cheater takes an attitude like this.

Most of these comments are all emotional responses to the cheating and not the topic at hand. Take away the cheating part which of course is a bad choice, but does another person have the right to find out everything on you and what you’re doing at all times? If this was you and you weren’t cheating and found out your spouse did this to you, wouldn’t you feel upset or somewhat violated? I prefer to have privacy and have rights to it.
I don’t condone cheating, it’s wrong. But I also don’t condone violating ones privacey. Doesn’t always mean someone’s doing something wrong. People deserve privacey plain and simple. That seems to be gone nowadays.
Plus people need to quit judging this man. No one is perfect and you need to get down off your soap boxes. We don’t know his story nor hers. She could be verbally abusive or refusing to be intimate, or he could be in a trapped situation, who knows? No one does but them and it’s their business. Media twists things on top of that to get people emotional and stir shit up, so try to take the emotion out and think of the topic at hand. Would you want your privacey completely gone and everyone to know exactly what you are doing at all times? And none of that “we’ll i don’t have anything to hide so I don’t have a problem with it”
It’s not about hiding something. It’s about having respect for ones privacey

Then don’t put the information you want to keep private on public sites. I am not judging him and usually, in a marriage gone wrong, there are two sides to the story. But in this instance, it is public information and public information is public, anyone can gather this information. So he had no expectation of privacy the minute he posted to these public sites.

Yes – when you are married, you make that deal with the other person. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes lol. At least he will have plenty of time to tweek his dating profiles. Respect is earned. He didn’t earn it, so she didn’t give it. Personally I think he is a crybaby and should lose everything, I hope she gets the house, kids, cars and he gets the bill. I don’t feel emotional about it. I think it’s funny he got busted and has tried to turn this into people feeling sorry for him- what a loser.

When you put your information into dating website . You are allowing them to put your information out there. So this is no different from hiring a PI or finding and out any other way. I installed a program called keystroke that allowed me to see every website and anything that my ex-husband typed in the computer . There are so many programs out there that allow you to find out anything about everyone. So my suggestion is that anyone doing things that they don’t want anyone to find out about. Stay off the computer

If you choose to go on a public dating site you chose to forfeit privacy as well. If you want to date you need to divorce and then date. It’s almost as though they want to get caught. They chose to do it the wrong way (cheating) and should suffer the consequences of their actions.

Yes, if you have an exclusive, agreed upon sexual relationship you have a right to check to see if they are having sex with others to be able to make the determination if this could lead to a sexually transmitted disease.

I’m glad she found and divorced his ass. I hope he doesn’t get a dime. Cut this “he’s human and everyone makes mistakes” bullshit. He got caught and now he’s upset because he can no longer have his cake and eat it too. I don’t understand why some people just can’t stay faithful. If you can’t, why get married? Marriage has its ups and downs, doesn’t mean you get a pass to cheat. If the marriage is boring, either talk about it, go to a marriage counselor, or divorce.

He wouldn’t be so upset & his life wouldnt be ruined, had his wife not found him cheating. If he was in a messed up relationship, he should have just left her instead of having affairs! Yes, now, let’s look at the whole picture.. if you don’t want someone to know something about you, don’t use the internet for someone to find you!

The information was attained from public records. You could go on line look up my name, get my address, go to local court records site find out if I own my house, how much my property taxes are, if I’m divorced, who I was married to, all from public records. The information the website coordinated was just a search engine gathering info. They did nothing wrong. She would have found out all the same info if she would have gone to individual sites herself, just would have taken a little more time.
The company didn’t do anything wrong. The man, regardless of the situation, he handled it wrong. If he was unhappy, he should have found a way to end the relationship and then move on.

So no, when you use dating sites and social media it is not private when someone looks up to see if you have an account with such sites, that anyone can access… So your comment has no logical thought process

How about the fact that his emotions ruined a persons life… he could of had a positive background.. Social media should sue him for handling their sites to cause harm to others.

No, we don’t know what was going on in this couples life but whether she was verbally abusive or refusing to be intimate does not give anyone male or female the right to cheat. If you are unhappy with your spouse and have no desire to work on it then do everyone a favor and be classy and end it before you sleep with someone else. Being sexual with someone else who is not your partner no matter how safe you are being or think you are not only putting you at risk but your partner too, how is that fair to the partner? They didn’t stray.

I agree with you about privacy. But, on the other hand he used social media and didn’t make his sight private. He used a dating site that puts his profile out there and it’s not private. So on this issue of privacy, he only has himself to blame, because they only went and got the information that is public and gathered it up. They didn’t hack his computer, they just used public records.

Transperancy should apply to marriages where all is revealed and shared! Nothing to hide, then why worry? Why make a stink? Yeah I’d feel hurt. The nerves of this man saying ‘The site ruined his life’. Uh, correction, he ruined his own life with his repeated decisions to cheat on his wife. He also didn’t think about those ‘single’ women he was lying to who were perhaps looking for a good, faithful man themselves. So, he was going around ruining ‘their’ lives and wasn’t thinking nothing of it. The Bible says ‘Whatsoever a man soweth, THAT shall he reap” so he deserves what he got. This man just got a dose of his own medicine that’s all. It’s bitter and nasty and now he’s whining about the taste!

If the cheating websites are public, which I think they might be to some level otherwise how would he have hooked up with the other women. As for whether he should sue, we live in a sue happy society, the real question is does he have a sound case. well my first sentence pretty much sums up what I think of that. If you put yourself out there in public company do have the right to take public information that you have personally shared. And to the wives or husbands that are faithful, we do not want to make an account just to check and see if they are cheating because it would make us look like cheaters too right? So spouses do have a right to find out if their spouse is cheating and if we do not have the money to hire a PI because we are at home taking care of their kids we have a right to find out that public information. If he didn’t want to get caught, he shouldn’t have found the women on social media in the first place.

Sometimes a douche is just a douche. Are you one of those people who think that the little wife should be silent and that the husband is the boss and his way is absolute? Why do you say she wanted out of her marriage first? She had a right to find out what was going on with her husband when his behavior suddenly changed. The info she got from the site was all public knowledge. Sorry but if my husband was suddenly acting different I would be wanting to know why too. And before you sprout any she should trust him crap: no one would let a sudden change of behavior go by without wondering what the heck. He had sex with 4 women and each time he was putting her life at risk with STDs, but the worse thing could have been Aids leaving her life of pain and even the possibility of death. So I feel that in cases like this they should have thrown the book at him. He should be charged with reckless endangerment of her life not just the money.

He certainly didn’t find an issue with rhe websites that allowed him to find information on women he cheated with. If you are going to cheat be prepared for the consequences. He is entitled to suffer for being a first rate scum bag. Good for his wife. Certainly this should be thrown out of court, a waste of the legal system. Such a jerk

If you can not handle the what is going to happen if you get caught then you have no business cheating on your wife or husband. I think people who cheat on their spouses are cowards and they deserve everything that is coming to them. I think that there should be more companies out there that do this. I also think that states need to remove the “NoFault” Divorce and let the person who has been cheated on get a huge settlement for being betrayed. Cause that will mess you up mentally for a long time and you will never be the same. Unfortunatly people end up staying with the person out of obligation cause usually that person is the main bread winner. So I Thank all those companies that show everyone who those cheating asses are. Way to Go

Damn straight about removing the “No Fault” Divorce because this happened to me and my husband of 20 years and been with for 30 years since I was 15 years old; decided he wanted to cheat on me in this lovely no fault state of Florida and I stayed with him for a year + to try and save our marriage and found out that he had continued to see her the whole entire time! I just wish ALL his cruelness and torture he put me through could be brought out in court!!!! That is what sucks! And he knows it won’t matter so he is good. That is definitely why the NO FAULT shit needs to go away because men are dirty dogs anyway but this makes them so much more likely to have these affairs with no consequences!

I dont think anyone should cheat for one or be cheated on. So I do think the company has the right to give information that is freely posted on any social media sites and any public site or anything that the individual has made public on the web. These people and every person knows what wrong they r doing when they r doing it and if they post the shuffle publicly then they deserve to have the information thT they have already shared with the rest of world share with there partners that suspect. It might actually give some of the good people in the world a chance to find a good relationship for once instead of always being used cheated on or abused and most of hurt by putting there efforts into someone that doesnt have the same values.

I don’t agree. I feel horrible for his wife, but I don’t think a company should have the capacity to do background checks without your consent. Every place I’ve gone (job, volunteer, bank loan, etc), background checks are performed after you sign your consent. Sorry, he has a leg to stand on. He’s a loser, no doubt, but, he has legal grounds.

Misinformed — You don’t need anyone’s permission to do a background check — All that company is doing is looking up “Public” information. If he’s asinine enough to put his pic and use his personal email address he ain’t built for cheating — cheating husbands .com I mean really — piece of sh!t he won’t get a dime!!!

What is privacy these days? We sign our rights away when we sign up for Facebook, LinkedIn, instagram, etc. So this company is able to pull and compile information on individuals, so what. We need websites like this not only for affairs but incase we wanted to look up a teacher, babysitter, etc. He screwed up, too bad. There are consequences and that’s his wife leaving him. He deserves everything coming at him and should not be entitled to a penny from this company.

It wasn’t actually a background check. Those involve interviews with friends and family, as well as credit reports and banking information. The company just searched public records, and he was on public websites. You can’t use match.com or facebook, which is available to the public, and think it’s confidential. It’s not. The fault was his for posting publicly and somehow thinking no one could – or would – find out.

I didn’t use a search site like this to catch him each time, but I found text messages, emails and FB messages, which I made copies of for proof. I believe these search sites are awesome though and do help people protect themselves from others who believe they’re so much better and clever and enjoy harming people. In today’s age if these hurtful people are using the internet to expand their harmful ways then why shouldn’t us victims be capable of using the same internet to help protect ourselves???

      Well well,
It’s finally begun. The techno world is not just spying on innocent people and causing tremendous harm with its viruses, and stolen credit info, but is now capable of exposing cheating husbands and wives. Finally! Look, if this was an article about a wife getting busted we wouldn’t even hear about her suing the company. Wanna know why? Because it’s stupid! Also because most women would feel guilty enough that they’d assume responsibility for getting caught by cheating in the first place! Too bad so sad. Didn’t this guy hear about the Ashley Madison site when hackers hacked it and exposed all the names of the cheating husbands?????!!
That should’ve been his FIRST Clue. In this day and age we need the ability to check on people. There’s predators, and con artists everywhere it seems. That’s ckedtlh bern proven by this article. I mean if a man whose been married 13 years can be cheating with 4 other women in one year? Imagine what the stranger across the street is doing?
      Karmas a bitch.

People who cheat suck, it is a selfish act, that only benefits the cheater. Maybe we will all get luck and his dick will fall off. It would be best if God would just mark ceaters with like a scarlet letter. Or a x on the forehead. It’s not about if he deserves anything from the divorce or the lawsuit—- which I don’t believe he does. He’s an asshat. It’s about did the service give his wife personal information that was obtained illegally? Did the sites he used for cheating give out info they shouldn’t have? If it’s in the fine print when you sign up, that some info may be given or sold to third parties, he’s screwed. Pun intended. I’ll bet it’s in the fine print somewhere and karma will win out. It’s a test of protecting personal information.

In any other kind of situation- cheating is basically breech of contract and therefore he is the only one who owes any payout to anyone….ie- his ex wife..his children…his parents for being a shitty pos human…etc. etc.

Men or women cheaters get what they get, or in this case what he didn’t get. When two people into marriage its with vows and promises. A promise can be broken with integrity…”honey I’m sorry but I don’t love you anymore and I’m getting out BEFORE I cheat”. Cheating is the most selfish and deceptive thing you can do to a trusting spouse. A lie doesn’t become truth, wrong doesn’t become right, and evil doesn’t become good, just because it’s accepted by a majority.

The law does not care about how you feel or what you or I think. It’s a mute point. If we went on emotions for this type of situation the world would crumble. My honest opinion; it the company broke the law by providing this information to his spouse then he deserves any compensation awarded. You don’t have to agree with me. However if each of us was judged on other people’s feeling and opinions of us, no one would ever win an argument or court battle.

While I wouldn’t like it if it happened to me, the company did nothing wrong from a legal standpoint. What they did is create some sort of software that pulls together information in one place. It’s information that’s already out there. It’s how banks decide whether or not you qualify for a loan & for what interest rate. It’s how your credit score is determined. Companies are created to perform background checks to see if someone is fit for employment.

I agree with you, emotions have no place in the law. I don’t think that the company broke the law by providing the information to his wife considering that is what they do. they do background checks and gather information on people and if people are going to pay for that service then obviously it isn’t illegal. this company wouldn’t be in existence if it was illegal.

What we all should be concerned about these types of websites that have all of our personal information that is accessible to ANYONE that requests the information from them simply by typing in your name. You do not have to be a spouse to obtain this info. The info., a certain amount of it, is free. You have to pay for the more detailed/in-depth information. It used to be that this type of information was ONLY available due to a bonafide background check (eg. Employment) or if you hired a private detective. There is just too much personsl info. floating around out there. Ever wonder why identity theft is running rampant? Personal info. is just too readily available out there.

Again, I’m not justifying his cheating (that’s wrong on so many levels) but I think the legal issue here is the invasion of privacy…sadly we expect that accessing the internet on our phones, tablets, etc affords us a certain level of privacy. Even government agencies have to have a warrant to access our internet activities…so the bigger issue is the privacy issue, the cheating part just provokes an emotional response.

When you are advertising yourself on a dating site (the internet) you have no reasonable expectation of privacy. If a guy was stalking a girl and he found her dating profiles using this service. 1. She wouldn’t know how he found her and 2. All she’d have to do is block him.

She also didn’t find out anything that she couldn’t have learned on her own. If she wished she could have made multiple fake online profiles and went looking for him and found him that way.

He had no contract to keep his information private with this company and he knew he was on public dating sites. I don’t see how he has a leg to stand on here.

Speaking as someone who has been the victim of domestic abuse, I can assure anyone who is worried if it was someone who was in hiding from a stalker or abusive ex that those women wouldn’t be on social media (at least not under her own info and pictures). I didn’t have a choice because I had a child with my ex and I needed my family to help me take care of him while I finished school, went to college and worked. But the privacy issue probably isn’t a big deal when it comes to women who have ever been a victim of anything that could result in harm coming to them if they were found using one of these sites. It’s the same reason many of our military members who need to be protected b/c of the serious nature of their job, whether they are an officer or a member of a specialized unit, typically don’t have social media accounts and aren’t supposed to post videos of themselves online with their names and faces visible.

Banks and doctors have information that is not publicly available, therefore there is an expectation of privacy. This background check company searches stuff like social media and dating sites, which are open to the public. Facebook, Tinder, Match.com, and the like do not give expectation of privacy, so these are two very different scenarios. No privacy laws have been broken. The site just compiled public information together in one place.

You literally have to check a box stating terms of use and it’s blatantly stated this is a publicly viewed and easily accessed for of social media site. I mean Facebook can even access your saved contacts aND store messages openly without accessed liability simply because you HAVE to accept those terms, along with multiple others, in order to even begin accessing it and others like it PERIOD. Most people just accept it without even reading what they are allowing, agreeing to, or even giving up. So in no way was his privacy invaded, he’s the one who accepted the terms and chose to put his info out on the net to find a woman to cheat with invaded the first place. I don’t understand why people can’t just be honest and tell their partner there is an issue instead of instantly opting to brutally betray them by cheating in the first place. That is an extremely damaging betrayal that can have very long-term negative effects. Coward!

He is wrong and nothing like that would be available to the public if he lived near his contract. And don’t say it is not legally binding because if it weren’t, why do people have to go to court and get a divorce?!?!!! He broke his legally binding contract to be faithful! So he has no legal battle. What you do in public is not confidential. And to top it off he lied to other woman and had sex with them, not right, he could have passed STD’s to each of them. These women have a right to know about his background to protect themselves. He lied, so his lies came back to hurt him. He brought it into the public eye, nobody else had to. HE SHOULD GET NOTHING!!! He got what he deserved! To me he sexually assaulted all these women and put their health in jeopardy, he should be charged with that. Lying, cheating POS!! N

Absolutely not. The profiles weren’t confidential or all the women he slept with couldn’t have found him. What idiot thinks a dating site is confidential. Sorry you’re too stupid to cheat the old fashioned way…. freaking really???? I’m no way is that company responsible for his ignorance or his wife’s intelligence.

This is ridiculous. How is a question like this even posted? The guy screwed around with FOUR women in a year? Wow, just wow. She should sue him for infidelity, if that even is a thing anymore.

I don’t think you can sue for infidelity but in NC we have a law that allows the spouse to sue if the person knew that they were married but had a relationship with them anyway. It’s called”Alienation of Affection” and since he posted on husband’s that cheat website she could sue the women that he cheated with from that site.

If he wants to play then he has to pay. It is no ones blame but his own. Dirt bags shouldn’t be rewarded for cheating on their wife.

No, he shouldn’t get any money. It is like many other web sites that can pull that information. Most web sites have a user agreement which lets you know that they are open to the public. He is just upset he got caught and had to pay the price. He should have been honest with his wife to begin with.

No he should not get a dime he cheated on her. In fact he should be paying her for alienation of affection. I don’t know if it’s the law there but it is here. Here in NC if either cheat. You can sue both parties for alienation of affection. The person who cheated and who they cheated with. When you are married you are as one. There should be no secrets. Point period blank end of story. He has no remorse for what he did. He is only sorry because he got caught. He should not get paid for breaking his vows.

Morally you are correct. However, the law regarding privacy and Separation of Church and Stare come into play.

If it’s true, he truly deserves nothing. What’s weird is that it clearly states the husband is suing but if you look at the photo of the register of actions, the plaintiff is the wife, not the husband.

Totally agree, if he had just been honest with her, things could have turned out so much better. Instead, he went behind her back & didn’t saying anything, giving her no choice in the matter. Clearly & just like with most who cheat, he isn’t sorry that he cheated, only sorry that he got caught.

no he shouldnt get a dime! your married so you have no personal confidential information from your wife or husband. your marriage is a unity of both your lives so anything you have or do is theirs too. if he wasnt happy or felt he wasnt being fulfilled in his marriage he should have spoke to her about it and see if they can fix it, if not then just divorce her and get it over with. Its never ok or justified to cheat in any situation. if your done be done dont be a sleaze!

Frank shouldn’t be entitled to money is like other websites used to find information on people .Another thing is if frank should be entitled to money than we all should be entitled to money because you find everyone’s information on many websites

No he shouldn’t get any money for walking out of his marriage . He hurt his wife and made that choice for his family when he cheated . He shouldn’t get anything but a karma to show him how it feels . …

All I can say if you don’t have the respect to be honest with your wife/ husband about cheating in the first place she/ he doesn’t owe you nothing. She had the right to investigate period. When you’re not straight up with somebody this is what happens.

Agree. The website only told her what he should have told her himself. And actually, if he would have been upfront in the 1st place, maybe she would have been spared some of the details. If it was me, i probably wouldnt feel better to see everything…just the main important points.

Well you should have not cheated on your wife in the first place, oh wow what comes around goes around. That’s what you get karma. You cannot sue anybody what you did wrong is wrong. How would you have liked it if your wife had done that to you it would’ve felt good right? You hurt someone in their heart very bad if the tables were turned you would have like that and you know it!! Like they say that’s life in the Barrio. 💜💜💃🏻
