If you are a person who loves to travel or dreams of traveling, one of the first big things that many travel bloggers have is a travel bucket list. These things are important to them for a variety of reasons as we’ll be explaining in this post.
Reason 1: First of all, a travel bucket list is literally a starting point for how you want your future to look. It’s something to get excited about, however, you don’t want to get too attached to it. Sometimes people will have to work for a few years longer than they wanted to to get to travel. That’s alright. So long as you aren’t controlled by your travel bucket list, it’s a great source of motivation. Furthermore, because the bucket list is a starting point you can build a framework around it and treat it as a sort of guide for you to take while traveling.
Reason 2: Another merit for a travel bucket list is that it’s a handy record for all the things you did. Indeed, you can tailor your bucket list as a sort of checklist for things to do. That way when you get back home you can show off pictures and explain in detail the places that you went to. People have a good recollection of memories and emotions so having a few words and a picture can do the trick.
Reason 3: Another benefit for the list is it provides a clear outline of where you want to go. Not for the sake of sticking to that list every single step of the way, but to leave yourself open for surprise. As much as following the specific path you mapped out, sometimes the greatest parts of the trip are the surprises. From locals telling you what places to check out or simply a change in plans, you can be pleasantly surprised by unexpected things.
Reason 4: A travel bucket list is also a good way for you to understand yourself better. We’ve all been told “what do you want to do when you grow up,” before and now that we are older, it’s time for us to really understand it. We may not have had a clear picture of what we wanted to do back then, but now that we are older, we have a good idea. By putting this list together you can better understand that. Are you someone who wants to walk through nature or climb mountains? Are you satisfied playing tourist or do you find the tourist attractions boring? Putting a list together can help.
Reason 5: The last benefit you can consider as well is the education and experience you get from traveling as well. Even putting together the bucket list may lead you to learn more about specific cultures and what sort of state the places you will be going in are like. Travelling can be a great opportunity for our minds to expand and to interact with other people we otherwise wouldn’t.
A bucket list is certainly a list of goals, but it can provide a lot more than that than we might think initially. Where do you want to go?
Where do these people get their money where they can just make a list and…go? Just like that?
It organizes what I’m working for and where should I prepare to go next. It’s also just fun.
