What happens when two global entertainment icons take their beef to a worldwide audience? What you get is a feud that is just as prominent as the actors in question. Who are the stars at the center of the storm, you might ask?

They come no more noticeable than Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel. The former comprises many parts including being an American actor, film producer, and screenwriter. He is ranked among Forbes magazine’s most bankable stars and is one of the highest-grossing actors of all time.

His many awards include the following:  bagging an Academy Award from five nominations, receiving two Golden Globe Awards from eight nominations, and getting nominated for three British Academy Film Awards and six Emmy Awards. Matt Damon received great acclaim for his starring roles in the Bourne Franchise (2002 to 2016) as well as his con man role in Ocean’s Trilogy (2001-2007).

Jimmy Kimmel’s credentials are just as intimidating as Matt’s. Born James Christian Kimmel in 1967, Jimmy is an American television host, comedian, writer, and producer. He is the current host and executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live! A late-night talk show that premiered on ABC in 2003.

Kimmel anchored proceedings at the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2012 and 2016, and the Academy Awards in 2017 and 2018, to rave reviews. Jimmy has distinguished himself in films such as Wind City Heat and Brad’s Status. He has been nominated for several awards, picking up wins for Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Game Show host as well as the Writer’s Guild of America award for Comedy/Variety.

So when these friends decide to take their mutual ‘irritation’ to a grand stage, you can expect nothing less than dramatic. The venue was the Dodgers-Red Sox match-up, a part of the much-beloved World Series in the United States of America. The friends showed their beef when they wore tee-shirts supporting either team.

While Matt Damon wore a red tee-shirt with a Red Sox Cap, Kimmel showed his allegiance to the Dodgers by donning blue tees. Perhaps the greatest attraction of their outfits was the inscriptions on them: each tee-shirt had the words ‘I’m with Stupid’ with arrows pointing in the direction of the other man.

Amidst their altercation, both men were joined by another notable star, Ben Affleck, who did not take sides in the feud.

Although The Red Sox beat the Dodgers 5-1, making them this year’s World Series champions, we can only expect that Matt and Jimmy will take their issues beyond the series, to a time undetermined.
