September is a big month. It marks the unofficial end of summer once Labor Day is in the rearview mirror. It’s back to school for many students all over the nation. Later in the month, fall officially begins.

What better way to celebrate any of these occasions than kicking back with a TV show or movie? Whether shows or movies that you’ve already seen or haven’t the slightest clue about, streaming service Hulu is a one-stop-shop for whatever you’re seeking (as is Netflix, which will have no shortage of original series arriving this month). Below, find the five best TV shows and movies coming to Hulu this month.

1. The Matrix series

Available now

The Matrix is among the best-known films of the past two decades, and this month, it’s finally arrived on a streaming service. With your Hulu subscription, you can refresh yourself on the 1999 classic or watch it for the first time if you’ve always wondered why it’s such a big deal. The film’s two 2003 sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, are also available to stream now on Hulu.

2. The Ocean’s trilogy

Available now

The Matrix isn’t the only classic trilogy hitting Hulu this month. Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Ocean’s Twelve (2004), and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) are all available to stream on Hulu. The series, which is an adaption of the 1960 Rat Pack film Ocean’s 11, stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Brad Pitt, among others, as thieves who attempt an elaborate Las Vegas heist. A 2018 Ocean’s spin-off, Ocean’s 8, is not considered part of the original series.

3. Requiem for a Dream

Available now

Another classic, Darren Aronofsky’s 2000 film about four heroin addicts offers an unflinching look at how drug abuse affects users and the people in their lives. The film is an adaption of Hubert Selby, Jr.’s novel of the same name, and Selby co-wrote the film’s script with Aronofsky. The film received acclaim from both critics and fans upon its release, and it’s still today heralded as a must-watch. In light of the ongoing opioid epidemic, the film may again be as relevant as it was then.

4. American Horror Story: Apocalypse

Season 8 of American Horror Story, available September 24

The eighth season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s infamous anthology horror series arrives on Hulu later this month. The season, which some have described as a blend of the series’ third season and its beloved first season, features Sarah Paulson, Billy Eichner, and frequent Ryan Murphy collaborator Evan Peters in returning roles. Apocalypse received stronger reviews than many of the seasons preceding it.

5. American Dad

Season 13 available September 30

The most recent season of Seth McFarlane’s series about a CIA agent’s family (which includes a mischievous alien) hits Hulu at the end of the month after airing on TBS earlier this year. Following voice actor Mike Baker’s departure just before this season, the two characters he voiced, Terry Bates and John Sanders, were written out of the show. This change seemingly hasn’t affected the show, as TBS has renewed it for an additional two seasons.
