Influential rapper, producer, fashion designer, and aspiring independent presidential candidate Kanye West has attempted to throw a wrench in the 2020 presidential election with the help of Republicans. In a recent interview, West candidly revealed that instead of running for president, he is “walking” for the position while happily subverting Biden’s campaign.

According to the New York Times, West met with President Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. West confirmed on Twitter that he met with Trump and Kushner  in Colorado. According to West’s tweet, West  spoke with Trump and Kushner about  the Black empowerment book PowerNomics by Dr. Claud Anderson.

Some Republicans are allegedly helping West get on the general election ballots in several states. In Ohio, West needed 5,000 signatures from registered voters and had submitted about 15,000 signatures. Among those signatures, Kanye listed 18 people who will vote for him in the Electoral College, but six of them were registered to one address in Cleveland. Another four were registered to one address in the Cleveland suburb of Lakewood. When West was asked in a recent interview about this rush to get himself on the ballot, he described it as a “God production.”

Kanye West’s campaign supporters have so far collected enough signatures to get on the ballot in Wisconsin. Shortly before the state’s deadline, Lane Ruhland — a Republican lawyer who has previously represented  Donald J. Trump — dropped off Kanye’s signatures to the state’s election board.

In a Politico-Morning Consult poll of about 2,000 people conducted between August 9 and 10, Kanye West received only two percent of support from possible voters. West polled highest with young people from Generation Z. Nine percent of the respondents claimed they have “no opinion” on the presidential election.

Although Kanye West has shown no indication of slowing down, his mental health has become a topic of concern. In July, West first announced his presidential run at a South Carolina rally. During that rally, he went on a tirade about the respected abolitionist and Underground Railroad creator Harriett Tubman. At the rally, West reprimanded Tubman because she “never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people.”

West also spoke about his views on abortion at the South Carolina Rally. He cried about wanting his wife, Kim Kardashian-West, to get an abortion. Additionally, West declared that everyone who has a baby should get a million dollars. Both this outburst and his thoughts on Tubman  caused an immense backlash of anger and worry for his mental well-being. Last year, West revealed his struggle with bipolar disorder on the show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. In the interview, West described what it feels like to have a manic episode.

After West’s first rally, Kim Kardashian-West was upset he had exposed their intimate details. West also wrote a slew of negative tweets about Kardashian-West and her mother, Kris Jenner, whom he described as “Kris Jong-Un.”

In an Instagram story, Kim said that family members of people who struggle with mental illness are powerless unless the person is a minor. She said she believes that people with mental illness can’t be forced to get the psychiatric help they need. According to a source close to Kardashian-West, she is not happy that Kanye is running for president. Although their relationship may appear rocky, another close source said the Kardashian-West family went on a vacation that helped heal their relationship.
